I learned about the tan coloring on legs last year in social studies. I think that’s really interesting.

My mum who lived in Dublin, Ireland, often told me about colouring her legs with gravy browning and using an eyebrow pencil to draw on the line for seams!

My Grandmother had lisle stockings. I remember them.

I was there on Saturday and had the privilege of meeting you and purchasing your book. I’m right in the middle of it, and find it hard to put down. It’s very interesting, how everyone joined together both here and abroad. I grew up in the late 70’s and early 80’s, and I remember our neighbors knowing everything about us kids. Today I have 3 of my own, my youngest being 14 yrs. old, and there isn’t one neighbor near us that I could tell you their first name. It’s really quite sad.
Thank you so very much for putting all these stories in one book. It’s a great addition to my library

My grandfather has talked about this story many times, does anyone know if there is a movie about this story?

Hadn’t looked at your website for awhile. You’ve made it so interesting and so informative. I learned a lot in a short time. Keep up the great work.
